GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE – MEB

Article 2 – Scope of Application
- These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) govern all sales concluded via the MEB e-commerce website.
- They apply to all products offered (tables, benches, samples, etc.), whether standard or custom-made.
- Placing an order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these GTC.
Article 3 – Products
- All products are manufactured by MEB.
- They are primarily made of aluminium and can be customised (dimensions, colours, tabletop materials).
- They are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, provided MEB’s care and storage instructions are followed.
- Product descriptions, visuals and specifications are indicative and not contractually binding.
Article 4 – Orders
- Orders are placed exclusively via the MEB website.
- An order summary is displayed before confirmation.
- After validation and payment, the client receives an email confirmation.
- The order becomes final once full payment is received.
- The invoice is issued after product delivery.
Article 5 – Prices and Payment
- All prices are expressed in euros and include Belgian VAT.
- Any applicable delivery fees are shown at checkout.
- Full payment is required at the time of ordering.
- Accepted payment methods: Bancontact and bank transfer.
- In case of non-payment, the order will not be confirmed and no products will be produced or delivered.
Article 6 – Delivery and Collection
- Delivery is available only within Belgium and carried out directly by MEB.
- The average production and delivery time is estimated between 4 and 8 weeks, non-binding.
- Customers may also choose to collect their order from the workshop once completed.
- Products travel at MEB’s risk until delivery to the customer.
- MEB shall not be liable for delays due to force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (weather, strikes, supply issues, etc.).
Article 7 – Right of Withdrawal and Returns
- In accordance with Belgian law, consumers have a legal right of withdrawal of 14 days from receipt of goods.
- Pour exercer ce droit, le client doit notifier sa décision par écrit (email à info@meb-design.be) dans ce délai.
- Return shipping costs are borne by the customer.
- Products must be returned in their original condition and suitable packaging.
- Refunds will be issued after inspection of the returned products.
- As a commercial choice, MEB does not exclude customised products from the right of withdrawal, unless otherwise provided by law.
Article 8 – Warranty and Liability
Legal warranty of conformity
- All products are covered by the 2-year legal warranty under Belgian law.
- It covers defects present at delivery and appearing within that period.
Exclusions and limitations
The warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and ageing (e.g. colour changes, surface alterations)
- damage caused by improper or abusive use (incorrect maintenance, impact, scratches, corrosive products)
- modifications or repairs made without MEB’s written consent
- use in extreme conditions (chlorine exposure, coastal environments)
- minor aesthetic imperfections not affecting normal use.
Defect notification
Customers must inspect the products upon receipt.
- Visible defects must be reported in writing within 7 days.
- Hidden defects must be reported as soon as discovered and within the legal time frame.
In case of defect
For a covered defect, MEB will choose between:
product repair
replacement
refund if repair/replacement is impossible.
Limitation of liability
- Except as required by law, MEB is not liable for indirect damages (loss of profit, loss of use, customer loss, etc.).
- MEB’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the concerned product.
Force majeure
- MEB is not liable for failures caused by force majeure (fire, flood, storm, strike, transport disruption, government measures, etc.).
Article 9 – Data Protection
Personal data collected are used solely for:
- order and delivery management,
- invoicing,
- commercial communication (newsletter, promotions).
- Data are not shared with third parties except as required by law.
- Le client peut demander l’accès, la rectification ou la suppression de ses données en écrivant à info@meb-design.be.
- MEB does not use third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
Article 10 – Applicable Law and Disputes
- These GTC are governed by Belgian law.
- In case of dispute, both parties shall seek an amicable settlement first.
- Failing agreement, only the Court of Namur shall have jurisdiction.
Article 11 – Acceptance of the GTC
- By confirming an order on the website, the customer acknowledges having read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
