GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE – MEB


Article 1 – Seller Identification

Article 2 – Scope of Application
  1. These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) govern all sales concluded via the MEB e-commerce website.
  2. They apply to all products offered (tables, benches, samples, etc.), whether standard or custom-made.
  3. Placing an order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these GTC.

Article 3 – Products
  1. All products are manufactured by MEB.
  2. They are primarily made of aluminium and can be customised (dimensions, colours, tabletop materials).
  3. They are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, provided MEB’s care and storage instructions are followed.
  4. Product descriptions, visuals and specifications are indicative and not contractually binding.

Article 4 – Orders
  1. Orders are placed exclusively via the MEB website.
  2. An order summary is displayed before confirmation.
  3. After validation and payment, the client receives an email confirmation.
  4. The order becomes final once full payment is received.
  5. The invoice is issued after product delivery.

Article 5 – Prices and Payment
  1. All prices are expressed in euros and include Belgian VAT.
  2. Any applicable delivery fees are shown at checkout.
  3. Full payment is required at the time of ordering.
  4. Accepted payment methods: Bancontact and bank transfer.
  5. In case of non-payment, the order will not be confirmed and no products will be produced or delivered.

Article 6 – Delivery and Collection
  1. Delivery is available only within Belgium and carried out directly by MEB.
  2. The average production and delivery time is estimated between 4 and 8 weeks, non-binding.
  3. Customers may also choose to collect their order from the workshop once completed.
  4. Products travel at MEB’s risk until delivery to the customer.
  5. MEB shall not be liable for delays due to force majeure or circumstances beyond its control (weather, strikes, supply issues, etc.).

Article 7 – Right of Withdrawal and Returns
  1. In accordance with Belgian law, consumers have a legal right of withdrawal of 14 days from receipt of goods.
  2. Pour exercer ce droit, le client doit notifier sa décision par écrit (email à info@meb-design.be) dans ce délai.
  3. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer.
  4. Products must be returned in their original condition and suitable packaging.
  5. Refunds will be issued after inspection of the returned products.
  6. As a commercial choice, MEB does not exclude customised products from the right of withdrawal, unless otherwise provided by law.

Article 8 – Warranty and Liability
  1. Legal warranty of conformity

    1. All products are covered by the 2-year legal warranty under Belgian law.
    2. It covers defects present at delivery and appearing within that period. 
  2. Exclusions and limitations

    1. The warranty does not cover:

      • normal wear and ageing (e.g. colour changes, surface alterations)
      • damage caused by improper or abusive use (incorrect maintenance, impact, scratches, corrosive products)
      • modifications or repairs made without MEB’s written consent
      • use in extreme conditions (chlorine exposure, coastal environments)
      • minor aesthetic imperfections not affecting normal use.
  3. Defect notification

    1. Customers must inspect the products upon receipt.

    2. Visible defects must be reported in writing within 7 days.
    3. Hidden defects must be reported as soon as discovered and within the legal time frame.
  4. In case of defect

    1. For a covered defect, MEB will choose between:

      • product repair

      • replacement

      • refund if repair/replacement is impossible.

  5. Limitation of liability

    1. Except as required by law, MEB is not liable for indirect damages (loss of profit, loss of use, customer loss, etc.).
    2. MEB’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the concerned product. 
  6. Force majeure

    1. MEB is not liable for failures caused by force majeure (fire, flood, storm, strike, transport disruption, government measures, etc.).

Article 9 – Data Protection
  1. Personal data collected are used solely for:

    1. order and delivery management,
    2. invoicing,
    3. commercial communication (newsletter, promotions).
  2. Data are not shared with third parties except as required by law.
  3. Le client peut demander l’accès, la rectification ou la suppression de ses données en écrivant à info@meb-design.be.
  4. MEB does not use third-party cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).

Article 10 – Applicable Law and Disputes
  1. These GTC are governed by Belgian law.
  2. In case of dispute, both parties shall seek an amicable settlement first.
  3. Failing agreement, only the Court of Namur shall have jurisdiction.

Article 11 – Acceptance of the GTC
  1. By confirming an order on the website, the customer acknowledges having read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
